Marsha joined Lightspeed’s Southeast Asia investments team in 2020. She is passionate about investing in the consumer space and has analyzed investment opportunities across a broad set of consumer categories, ranging from retail, fast-moving consumer goods, beauty, fashion, food & beverages, to health & wellness.
Marsha has a unique experience of covering the consumer sector across both public and private markets. Prior to Lightspeed, she spent several years covering Southeast Asia consumer and retail sectors, both as a Private Equity investor at L Catterton, the world’s largest consumer-focused Private Equity fund, and as a sell-side Equity Analyst at Goldman Sachs, where she covered Southeast Asia’s largest publicly traded consumer and retail companies. Prior to returning to Southeast Asia, she was an Analyst at BlackRock’s Financial Markets Advisory division in New York City.
While she enjoyed her time covering primarily traditional consumer companies, Marsha has been deeply fascinated by how technology is transforming consumer behavior. Driven by her desire to work directly with disruptive consumer technology companies, she decided to transition from late stage investing to Venture Capital.
Marsha grew up in Indonesia and also spent parts of her childhood and formal education across Europe and the United States; she studied Finance and Public Policy at Vanderbilt University and University College London. She will also be pursuing her MBA at Harvard Business School. Outside of Lightspeed, Marsha loves to venture out the culinary scene and is an avid green tea drinker (greatly influenced by her late grandfather, an agriculture entrepreneur).
