Adil has spent over two decades at private markets investment firms: both making investments and partnering with the institutions that fund them. He brings that perspective to Lightspeed as Partner and Head of Capital Partnerships, focused on building and deepening the firm’s partnerships with its global clients and partners. He was drawn to Lightspeed’s “builder” culture, and the firm’s authentic desire to partner more closely with our clients and partners.
For Adil, strong LP partnerships develop from continuous and candid engagement. That means sharing investment knowledge and insights, deal flow, and developing creative partnership solutions – ultimately building relationships that extend well beyond a fund commitment.
Before joining Lightspeed, Adil spent 12 years at EQT, where he co-led the expansion of the firm’s investor relationships as Co-Head of Client Solutions across the Americas. He later served as global Head of Institutional Product Management, overseeing fundraising execution, sales enablement, co-investments, and senior stakeholder management across EQT’s institutional funds.
Earlier in his career, Adil spent 13 years at Apax Partners; first as an investor across venture, growth, buyout, and hedge fund strategies, and later in investor relations and fundraising. That experience, along with his time at EQT before it, still shapes the way he works with investors today. Both of these roles taught him the importance of listening closely, and leaning into partnership and change.
Adil began his career at McKinsey, advising companies across technology, retail, and financial services. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in engineering from the University of Michigan. Adil lives in Greenwich, CT, with his wife, their parents, and three children. His eldest daughter is in college, his son is in high school, and his youngest daughter is in middle school. No pets yet, though the household continues to lobby hard.
