Raised by a large joint Indian family, Abhivyakti inherently values and enjoys being around people. It’s helped her to appreciate and embrace diverse ideas and opinions, which serves her well in her role as partner at Lightspeed India.
“Today, startups in India and around the world are penetrating multiple dimensions of our lives and are simplifying the way we conduct everyday tasks,” said Abhivyakti. “To be able to meet the passionate risk-takers, creators of brilliant ideas and work with them through their journey is what truly inspired me to venture into this industry,” said Abhivyakti.
Technology has always marveled her, but her interest was further sparked when she worked on various IT and digital projects during her tenure at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Her favorite part of the job, however, is without a doubt the people. “At Lightspeed, I’m surrounded by some of the smartest and humble people,” said Abhivyakti. “It’s an environment that’s conducive to learning and achieving. I’m hungry to learn something new every day and completely immerse myself in whatever I take on — big or small.”
A trained classical dancer and self-described theater junkie, AbhivyaktiI also makes time for pilates and trekking when she’s not working. “I firmly believe my extracurriculars have helped me learn how to push myself and go that extra mile in whatever I’m doing. They’ve also helped me become more comfortable with change, which is an inevitable fact of life and business.”
