Antoine joined Lightspeed’s European investment team in 2022. He focuses on AI, data and machine learning infrastructure, developer tools, cybersecurity, robotics and resilience-oriented technologies across Europe. He likes working with founders building deeply technical products, particularly in areas where AI, software and automation are opening up new markets.
Having grown up in the Netherlands and later lived in France, Germany, Spain and the UK, Antoine has a strong appreciation for Europe, its technical talent and its different cultures. Earlier in his career, he worked at two European unicorns: FlixBus, the German mobility company at the intersection of technology, e-commerce and transportation, and Dataiku, the French data science and machine learning platform.
Before joining Lightspeed, Antoine was a Principal at EQT Ventures, where he supported investments across Europe with a particular focus on France. His work has covered data infrastructure, developer platforms, design and collaboration tools, fintech, identity, crypto infrastructure and enterprise software.
At Lightspeed, Antoine spends much of his time with founders building AI companies and the infrastructure around them. He was involved in Lightspeed’s early investment in Mistral AI and continues to focus on how AI is built, deployed, secured and adopted. He is also interested in the places where software, robotics, autonomy and industrial resilience meet.
Antoine speaks English, French, German and Spanish. He is naturally drawn to complex technical topics that take time to understand. He often says he is passionate about meeting passionate people: founders, researchers and operators who are obsessive about their craft and determined to build something important.
Outside of work, Antoine enjoys spending time with friends offline and online, including the occasional Age of Empires II session. He also enjoys design, typography, live music, disco house and long conversations about technology, society and Europe.
He holds a dual degree in Business Administration and Languages from the University of Lyon and a master’s degree in Data Science from IE Business School in Madrid. He also started Curious Circle, a broader initiative for curious minds that brings together founders, researchers, operators and technologists for thoughtful conversations on ideas shaping the future.
