Myia leads Lightspeed’s Investment Operations team, focusing on building a cohesive structure that enhances efficiency, scalability, and alignment across the entire firm. By partnering closely with investors and other teams, she ensures insights and trends are readily available, improving processes and supporting data-driven decision-making.
Myia’s path to venture capital was fueled by her intellectual curiosity and her desire to contribute at the intersection of business, innovation, and impact. Before joining Lightspeed, she spent nearly a decade in operational leadership at Okta, most recently as Chief of Staff for Customer Experience and Communications. Prior to that, she held roles at Appirio, Ernst & Young, and Accenture, gaining deep expertise in building systems and driving operational excellence. “Being at the forefront of industry trends and emerging markets is what drives meaningful change,” she says. “It’s exciting to contribute to the innovations that will shape our world.”
With a passion for optimizing processes and enhancing transparency, Myia has built a reputation for improving organizational efficiency and ensuring systems work seamlessly. By refining internal processes and fostering collaboration, she helps leaders focus on what they do best.
Born and raised in a working-class neighborhood outside of Chicago, Myia’s upbringing was shaped by her parents’ experience as immigrants from the Philippines. Witnessing their hard work, grit, and perseverance instilled in her a deep sense of purpose, accountability, and gratitude — values she carries into her professional life.
Myia is deeply inspired by emerging technologies and the transformative impact AI is poised to have on the world. She sees Lightspeed’s role in driving those innovations forward as pivotal to shaping the future.
Outside of work, Myia finds joy in spending time outdoors — whether running, hiking, biking, or snowboarding in the mountains. These pursuits have not only been a source of adventure but have also instilled in her valuable lessons about perseverance, goal-setting, and the power of incremental progress — qualities that shape her approach to work. She lives in Marin with her husband, three kids, and their dog, and their weekends are often filled with kid sports and family adventures. When they find a break, the Silkaitis family loves exploring new destinations and living like locals.
