Over the past 25 years, Lightspeed has been at the forefront of several technology waves – from the rise of the internet to mobile, then cloud, and now the current AI revolution. Each platform shift builds on the last, unlocking new opportunities across sectors.
These platform shifts are sparked by innovation at the foundational layer. For the internet, it was routing protocols and hardware; for mobile, powerful CPUs at the edge and faster cellular connections; for cloud, bespoke hardware and software systems at global scale; and for AI, the rise of GPUs and LLMs. Apple, NVIDIA, Cisco, AWS, Google, Tesla, and many more enterprises scaled these key frontier innovations to build generational companies.
And now we are on the cusp of several new foundational innovations across energy, robotics, intelligence, and materials – all pulling us further into the future. We find ourselves at a special point in time, with a pipeline of breakthroughs in these sectors primed to scale into technologies that will fundamentally alter the way we live our lives. At Lightspeed, we believe these foundational innovations represent an incredible opportunity to build the next set of generational companies.
That’s why I’m excited to join Lightspeed. Growing up in Silicon Valley and witnessing rapid technological development fostered my passion for entrepreneurship and innovation. As an Enterprise Partner at Lightspeed, I bring extensive frontier tech venture experience from Playground Global and a deep understanding of how new technologies shape the future from experiences in cybersecurity at Shape Security and manufacturing at Magna.
To catalyze the biggest markets of tomorrow, we want to partner with the frontier companies of today. We seek out the inevitable truths and invest in the underlying technologies at the start of their S-curve. Lightspeed has a deep history of investing in these foundational companies – from Nutanix, Riverbed, and Pensando to Skild, Dexterity, Ultima and many more – and I am excited to build on this deep platform.
