I consider myself extremely lucky to be a part of Lightspeed’s team here in Israel.
Our Tel Aviv office is quite small with a team of three investing partners total: Yoni started the office in 2006, Dudu joined in 2008 and I joined them in 2017.
We are of different ages, have radically different personalities and different areas of interest but we operate as one, very close team.
As an integral part of Lightspeed’s global platform, we get to ‘choose our own adventure‘ and partner with exceptional Israeli founders from seed to IPO across many sectors.
We’re looking for our next team member and we’ve chosen to open up the recruiting process in order to see a more diverse set of candidates in this process.
We’re not limiting ourselves to people with prior VC experience. We are primarily focused on growth potential and a passion for technology and investing. The person we hire will learn how to identify high potential startups, conduct due diligence, manage deal flow, grow their personal network, and establish a strong professional identity.

Venture Capital is part art and part science so we’re looking for someone with an unusual set of attributes. Here’s the kind of person we’re looking for:
You have a strong technical and quantitative background
You will meet many technical founders and assess ideas that are at the cutting edge of modern technology. You need to quickly understand their vision and they need to leave the meeting knowing that you ‘got it’.
You have an athlete mindset
You want to win. You’re not afraid of working hard. You have a history of excellence and performing at the top level wherever you’ve been previously. You’re a self starter who doesn’t need to be micro-managed.
You are a relationship builder
You enjoy meeting people and they enjoy meeting you. You cultivate relationships over years and can tap into diverse networks when there’s a need.
You’re very comfortable in a global work environment
You are 100% fluent and comfortable in English. You’ve had prior work experience in global settings and with people from diverse backgrounds.
You have a passion for technology and products
You have experience building products or working in technology companies. You have opinions about products and you like geeking out.
You are early in your career
VC is an apprenticeship business. Over the past decade, VC became a highly specific profession and asset class. It takes time to know if you enjoy it (or if you’re any good at it!). We are committed to help you learn and develop as an investor but it should be a long term commitment on your side and a relatively long horizon to make it worthwhile.
