As part of the Emergence program, Managers have access to a community of peers and receive support through capital, connections, and content.

Emergence is the evolution of the Lightspeed Scout Program focused on bringing together people from Black, Latinx, Indigenous and Pacific Islander communities. Over the years, the Lightspeed Scout Program has demonstrated that diverse participation is instrumental to reaching founders of URM backgrounds. After joining our Lightspeed Scout program in 2018, LaDante McMillon and Ivan Alo went on to launch their own fund, NEW AGE CAPITAL

    Lightspeed backs Emergence Managers and support their underwriting needs as they grow their venture business.

  • CONTENT

    Lightspeed’s team hosts regular content sessions focused on the fundamentals of firm management and hosts this content online for program participants. Topics include: Building a VC Firm, Achieving Customer Success with LPs, Venture Fund Capital Management, and more. Content sessions will be recorded and accessible in our online Knowledge platform.

  • COMMUNITY

    Opportunities to meet peers across the program 1:1 and in small groups, and stay in touch through our online community. You’ll also get to know Lightspeed’s team, with regular check-ins and activities such as sector deep dives.

  • CONNECTIONS

    Lightspeed hosts an annual Limited Partner Demo Day for all Emergence Managers. This is an opportunity to make new LP connections while sharing your fund strategy and vision.

Faction is a registered investment adviser under the United States Investment Advisers Act of 1940, as amended. Faction advises its own fund(s) and does not advise any Lightspeed clients, and Lightspeed does not advise Faction or any of its clients. Lightspeed and Faction are parties to an agreement pursuant to which Lightspeed holds certain interests in Faction and the fund(s) Faction manages.
