As Vice President of Investor Relations, Alyssa deepens Lightspeed’s relationships with its global LP base, working to ensure capital partners are aligned with the firm’s strategy and energized by the founders and ideas Lightspeed backs. Alongside that work, she has helped design the firm’s responsible investing practices, thinking carefully about how Lightspeed shows up as a long-term partner, not just a fund manager.
Alyssa’s path to IR wasn’t a straight line. Studying finance in undergrad, she was drawn to investor relations because it blended the analytical side of the work with something equally important to her: building real relationships. She started at PitchBook Data in Seattle before spending a year at Standish Management on the operational side of fund administration, and then five years in an IR role at Industry Ventures. That experience, working across a range of fund strategies and LP relationships, gave her a deep foundation that continues to shape how she approaches her work at Lightspeed.
What Alyssa finds most meaningful about IR is the depth it requires. Every LP program is different, with different goals, different constraints, and different definitions of a successful partnership, and doing the work well means understanding those distinctions, not just responding to them. She’s also drawn to the challenge of translating the investment team’s thinking, often deeply technical and fast-moving, into formats that are genuinely useful to LPs: clear, substantive, and grounded in where their capital is actually going to work.
Born in the Bay Area and raised in Spokane, Washington, Alyssa still carries that upbringing into how she shows up at work: with a quiet appreciation for how quickly things are changing, and a genuine sense of awe that her job is to help fund the companies building what comes next. She gets back to Washington as often as she can, both for family and because the time away is what lets her come back sharp.
Outside of work, life centers on spending time with friends and family, traveling, cooking, and being outdoors.
