Amy Anton Loehrer

Vice President of Talent, AI.

Amy brings nearly two decades of experience in operator roles to her work on Lightspeed’s Talent team, where she focuses on nurturing relationships with top AI/ML talent and advising portfolio and pre-investment companies on their AI talent needs.

Before joining Lightspeed, Amy focused on building niche and emerging divisions within global organizations like McKinsey & Company and Google. Her career has been defined by a passion for stepping into first-of-their-kind roles and building new initiatives from the ground up. This experience gives her a unique perspective in supporting founders and companies navigating uncharted territories in their own industries.

For the past decade, Amy has engaged deeply with the global AI/ML talent ecosystem, fostering strong relationships with top technical minds and gaining insights into the intricate ways engineering and research specialties align with product development. Her ability to quickly build trust and connect with highly technical talent has been key to her success, and she now applies this skill to connect Lightspeed’s portfolio companies with pivotal talent in the AI space.

A spirit of exploration and curiosity has shaped Amy’s professional journey. She thrives in ambiguous environments where she can learn and adapt — a mindset cultivated through her extensive travels and time spent living abroad in Barcelona and Nairobi. These experiences have fostered a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, new perspectives, and the growth that comes from embracing discomfort. This same openness drives her ability to connect with talent and founders alike, building bridges between technical expertise and entrepreneurial vision.

Outside of work, Amy is a passionate traveler and seeker of new experiences. After meeting her husband in Nairobi, she, her husband, and their three-year-old son have embraced a shared love for exploring new destinations and immersing themselves in different cultures — a curiosity Amy is especially focused on nurturing in her son, encouraging him to embrace new places, people, and ideas. Whether discovering a new city or enjoying live music, her love of connection and discovery inspires both her personal life and her approach to work.

“I believe some of the best insights come from unexpected places,” Amy says. “Being open to new ideas, people, and experiences has been key to my growth — and I hope to inspire the same mindset in the founders and teams I support.”
