Growing up in the Bay Area, Charlie was always drawn to the excitement of startups, but it wasn’t until his previous role that he decided to pursue venture full-time. “Working with venture-backed companies on their path to IPO made it clear to me that I loved working with companies at the forefront of technology and wanted to partner with them earlier in the journey.”

Charlie joined Lightspeed’s Capital Markets team in 2024, and is primarily focused on helping portfolio companies navigate their path to the public markets and exploring opportunistic investments in the secondary markets. Before joining Lightspeed, Charlie spent three years at Goldman Sachs working on IPOs and late-stage secondaries. His deep understanding of the public markets and what investors look for in IPO-ready companies gives him a unique perspective and ability to identify late-stage opportunities and add value to Lightspeed’s portfolio companies.

The youngest of three brothers, Charlie’s competitive spirit and will to win started at a young age. Be it football in the backyard, spelling tests in school, or video games at home, Charlie was always finding creative ways to beat his brothers- mostly by being scrappy, working harder, and never giving up. This competitive nature was a big part of his experience playing sports in college and has transferred to his professional mindset. “I love to win, and I’m willing to work hard to make it happen,” he said.

Outside of work, Charlie enjoys spending time with family and friends, surfing, skiing, and reading.
