Vice President, Community

Jasmine Cohn

“An open mind and collaboration from diverse perspectives creates incredible innovation – each of us has valuable life experience to share, and there’s always something to be learned from others.”

As Head of Community at Lightspeed, Jasmine is focused on cultivating meaningful connections across the Lightspeed ecosystem, and building learning experiences for founders and their teams. She also co-leads the firm’s Diversity Equity Inclusion Belonging Committee, an internal working group focused on building a more diverse and inclusive Lightspeed and influencing positive change in the industry. “I’m inspired by Venture Capital’s ability to create equitable opportunity and empower underrepresented communities in our society,” said Jasmine. Through partnerships, programs and initiatives, she’s passionate about making C-suites, boardrooms, and captables more representative.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Jasmine was inspired at an early age by innovative companies built nearby and attended math and science camps at local universities. She grew up watching her father build his dentist practice from the ground up and gained an early understanding and appreciation of entrepreneurship. And she credits her mother who immigrated from Ecuador, for teaching her that anything is possible if you work hard enough.

Prior to Lightspeed, Jasmine was a leader in product and operations at Facebook and Pinterest. At Facebook, Jasmine was a Product Specialist and focused on building intuitive sharing flows for Stories and News Feed. At Pinterest, Jasmine launched the company’s first Developer Program and led operations for the developer community. “Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to support the building of some incredible communities. I understand the power of people uniting around a common goal, making meaningful connections, and growing from working together,” said Jasmine.

It was during college, while completing her B.S. in Economics at the Wharton School of Business, that Jasmine jump started her career in Venture Capital. She was a Founding Partner of First Round Capital’s Dorm Room Fund – a student-run venture fund investing in student founded start-ups. She then spent time at Andreessen Horowitz as an intern and supported diligence for consumer marketplace investments. Outside of work, Jasmine enjoys and is energized by yoga, meditation, dancing and interior design.
