Nikita Bier

Product Growth Partner. Los Angeles. Consumer.

Nikita Bier joined Lightspeed as Product Growth Partner, bringing with him a wealth of experience in building and scaling consumer technology products. Nikita is best known for founding tbh and Gas, positivity-focused social media apps that rapidly gained millions of users and topped the App Store charts. After their breakout success, tbh was acquired by Facebook (now Meta) in 2017 and Gas was acquired by Discord in 2022.

Nikita is sought after as an advisor and investor for his skills in viral growth, network effects, product design and going-to-market. He has invested or advised in a number of top-ranking consumer apps such as Locket, BeReal, Flo, and many more.

In his role at Lightspeed, Nikita leverages his experience to help portfolio companies as their products scale up and hit critical inflection points.
Before tbh and Gas, Nikita launched a number of viral products including Politify—a presidential policy analysis tool—while a student at UC Berkeley. He has been developing consumer-facing websites since his childhood.

In his free time, Nikita shares his learnings, insights, and occasional humor to his followers on X and regularly provides founders with tactical advice to distribute and test their products. Nikita grew up in and is based out of sunny Los Angeles.

Lightspeed and its affiliates engage and retain the services of consultants, operating advisors, operating partners, operating executives, venture directors, venture partners, partners or senior advisors (together the “Venture and Operating Partners”) to assist the Firm in sourcing and evaluating new investments or supporting Lightspeed’s leadership in other ways, including by providing strategic insights related to portfolio companies, investment opportunities and other matters, as well as supporting portfolio companies directly post-investment. Most Venture and Operating Partners are non-employees.
